3 Branding & Website Design Trends I Want to See More of in 2025
As I sit down to map out my Q4 plans, my creative little mind can't help but wander into the future. I’ve been doing a lot of dreaming about the branding and website design trends I’m dying to see more of in 2025, and all of the incredible small businesses I could create design magic for.
In this post, I’d like to share some design styles that I think help to infuse some serious personality into our online spaces and make the world of websites a more exciting and interesting place. So, let’s dive into the three big brand and web design trends I’m rooting for as we step into a new year of creative possibilities!
1. Custom Illustrated (and Maybe Even Animated) Characters
First on my design wish list for 2025? More custom illustrated and animated characters in branding and web design. I’m talking about those charming little figures that bring a brand to life, packing a punch of personality and unique brand character. Imagine a colourful, personality-packed brand, dotted with cool little dues (and dudettes) that make you smile every time you see them. It’s like a branding dream come true!
These characters aren’t just cute—they’re a powerful design tool for making your brand unforgettable. They add a layer of uniqueness and playfulness that’s hard to beat in the online space. I mean, who wouldn’t fall in love with a brand that feels so alive and full of character? So, let’s make 2025 the year we bring back the fun and whimsy in branding. More of this, please!
2. Editorial, Free-Flowing Website Pages
Next up, I’m all about those editorial, almost print-inspired website designs that feel free-flowing and experimental. Remember the days when we got a bit too comfortable with blocky, simplistic designs, thanks to the rise of mobile responsiveness? Well, it’s time to break free from those confines and embrace the endless possibilities that modern web design offers.
These editorial-style pages are not only gorgeous and chic, but they also allow for creativity to shine through. They feel like a beautifully designed magazine spread, but in digital form. And guess what? We’ve cracked the code on making these designs work seamlessly across devices. So, in 2025, I want to see more of these sophisticated, experimental designs that make you stop and admire the sheer artistry behind them. Let’s get bold and let our web designs flow like a piece of art.
3. Bold, Colourful Text (Buh-Bye Black, Grey, and White!)
Finally, let’s talk about text baby. Specifically, the text colour. I’m ready to wave goodbye for good to the standard black, grey, or white text we’ve been relying on for far too long. In 2025, I want to see more bold, colourful text as part of brands and websites that stands out and makes a big, unforgettable statement.
Sure, from a contrast perspective, black and grey will always be the safest bets, but where’s the fun in that? Any designer worth their salt knows how to create contrast with colour in a way that’s both striking and accessible. I’m loving the monochrome websites that pop with bold text hues—they’re gorgeous, elegant, and incredibly fun. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries with text color in 2025, creating designs that are as vibrant and lively as the brands they represent.
So, what do you think of my 2025 branding and website design trend wish-list?
Is there a particular style that you’re itching to see more of on your own website? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s make 2025 a year of bold, beautiful, and personality-packed design.
